The other biggest problem with them is that the no longer have customer support that you can actually speak to! We leave messages and send emails and no one gets back to us. It’s been over 2 weeks now since we tried to get technical support and nothing. How can a big company like this not be able to afford customer service staff to answer calls and questions. Very disappointing. Perhaps they are getting ready to go out of business?

I hear you. IDX has been a thorn in the side of most real estate websites for a while now. They work, but very few offer the ease of use and features that Zillow offers. That means people have few reasons to stay on your website.

For straight up listings, I think most solutions, including Ixact’s and Zurple et al, work perfectly well. Maps on the other hand…

With their Eureka Search Ihomefinder has what I think is the closest to what Zillow has. It has a huge map and a sidebar of listings on the right just like Zillow.

Then there’s Showcase and of course RETS, but now we’re starting to get into some $$$ and esoteric skills.

I haven’t heard of BoxMLS but they look like they’re building good stuff.

Yeah, not an easy choice!

Their old UI looked like Windows 95. And they actually defended that at the time. Go figure.

Seems like a lot of upselling. Sadly their IDX solutions suffer from what virtually every other has as a weak point. The map is constrained to a small rectangle with an overly large thumbnail list below. So you end up constantly scrolling. The best search UI is what Redfin uses and to some extent, what Cloud MLX and Compass use. That is the list to either side of a large responsive map. The list view should give the option of viewing thumbnail lines or a single line table view. Any other UI is shit. Why would you want to make a consumer work hard to view listings??

IDX has lost its luster anyway. We looked at BoxMLS for an MLS of choice frontend and they have a pretty nice brandable solution per agent that is part of the package. Not to mention Homesnap.

It looks like the CRM part is pretty good. I will say, the one thing every CRM of future will need is a client portal that gives a concise breakdown of the transaction from start finish whether you are the listing or buyer agent. A HUD if you will, complete with a live calendar of events and a full list of vendors that are part of the transaction.
