That sucks, I’m sorry you’re going through this. The sad fact is, scammers are still pretty rampant on Craig’s List. At this point, there’s not much to do other than to be watchful and proactive. I wish I had a better answer for you!

Just recently I had two scams circulating- one where someone else stole my listing and reposted as a rental (the usual one I see on craigslist) the other took my identity as an agent and offered jobs for hire on listings (not even my own or in the same state) someone promising to pay if someone decluttered the yard, mowed, landscaped etc.. both were reported to the police after someone called me asking me when they were getting paid for work they did in OH (I am in NC). Is there wording you suggest, disclaimers to deter?
