Given this, PLs have become a threat to agents thus the push for regulation and less privacy between buyer and seller, while attempting to sell fear about transparency for PRIVATE individuals and business.

Thanks for the comment. I agree; a ban on pocket listings is certainly a sign that NAR doesn’t trust it’s members to make good decisions on this particular issue. Regulation feels like a good idea to me, but within the bounds of giving Realtors the opportunity to make their own decisions based on the best interests of their particular client.

I think as agents, our job is to get the home sold for the seller. If the seller is in agreement, then I do not think where we choose to market the listing should be regulated. I can see the concern over fair housing practices, but on the other hand, we have to be trusted as REALTORS to abide by the code we signed up for.
