I was happy to see some actual criticism as I’ve recently experienced similar circumstances. I feel the same way, that they’re goal has now become more about generating income from their education. Misleading or lacking information regarding credits in their courses that don’t actually apply to the designation is prevalent throughout. In some cases you don’t know until after you’ve purchased a course, especially bundles, how many credits actually transfer to the designation. I paid for five courses that were pretty much worthless. I don’t think I would do it again or if I’ll renew my membership. These practices quickly eroded my confidence in the credibility of the CRS designation, or if I want to be associated with this organization. While I think the local chapters and members, let’s say the volunteers, are doing a good job and are 100% behind the CRS, the problem seems to be with RRC and the paid management. NAR needs to hold them accountable or cease to endorse them.
